Karnataka Bulldozers lose first CCLT20 Trophy

The Karnataka Bulldozers, who had won three League matches in the series, have lost out the first Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) T20 Trophy to the Chennai Rhinos. The Ashok Kheny owned Kannada actors team was defeated by 25 runs in the final match of the first season.

Kicha Sudeep, the Captain of Karnataka Bulldozers, won the toss and chose to field first. But the bad performance in bowling gave a chance to Tamil actors to perform well in batting. Tamil actors Vikranth and Vishnu scored 66 and 61 respectively. The Chennai Rhinos collected 190 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Later, the Karnataka Bulldozers tried to chase their score, but they fell flat in the initial overs by losing wickets. The good batsmen like Dhruva and Rajeeva did not play well. Bhaskar scored 67 runs and remained not out. The team played all the 20 overs and only managed to collect 165 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Replying to the question why his team lost the match, Ashok Kheny said, "Who said we have lost? We have won the hearts of millions of people. Nation did not know many of Kannada actors and with this match, all these actors have got recognition. Sudeep and team have done a wonderful job in the first three matches. They have won my heart. If they want, I will buy them ten trophies like this. I am sure that the team has performed well but it was bad luck. Anyway we will comeback next year with better preparation."

However, Kannada actor Dhruva bagged a Nano car and the Man of the Series trophy. Tamil actor Vikranth was given the Man of the Match, while Vishnu walked away with Best Batsman of the Series. It was a bitter moment for Kannada actors, who had won all the matches. Sudeep and his friend Kempe Gowda producer Shankare Gowda cried bitterly after losing the final match.
