Namitha joining hands with Saloni for Benki Birugaali

In 1985, director Tiptur Raghu had made a movie named Benki Birugaali, which starred late Dr Vishnuvardhan and Shanker Nag in the leads. Now, Telugu filmmaker SK Bashid is set to make his debut in Kannada with a movie with the same title. Bombshell Namitha Kapoor is making her comeback to Kannada screen with this film. Mumbai-based actress Saloni is essaying the role of second heroine in it.

Benki Birugaali is a suspense thriller with triangular love story as its backdrop. Recently, the film had a grand muhurtha on Monday at Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore and crazy star V Ravichandran started the shooting of the film by clapping the board. The movie bosses are planning to dub it in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. Its shooting will take place in Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Switzerland, Malaysia and Hongkong.

Sexy queen Namitha is said to be representing Benki (fire), while Saloni's role symbolises 'Birugaali" (storm). Rishi, who has already acted in a Telugu and Tamil films, is now debuting in Kannada with this film. Madhuve Agona Baa fame composer Srilekha, who has earlier worked for Bashid's Ramdev, is scoring music for it.

However, Namitha has already made it clear in several press meets that she is fed up with glam roles and she has determined to change her image. Now, she is making conscious decision while choosing her roles in her next movies. She has already completed the shoot for her next Kannada movie Namitha I Love You in which she plays a decent role of a Yoga teacher. Now, Benki Birugali is an action flick, which will explore her never-seen-before side.
