Golden
girl
Ramya
has
joined
the
Karnataka
Pradesh
Youth
Congress
(KPYC)
earlier
this
year
and
she
also
met
the
general
secretary
of
the
Congress
party,
Rahul
Gandhi
at
the
Bangalore
Palace.
The
latest
buzz
is
that
the
Kannada
actress
is
eyeing
the
post
of
president
of
the
KPYC.
According
to
reports,
the
last
date
for
filing
the
nomination
for
the
post
of
the
KPYC
president
is
September
10.
Ramya
is
reportedly
filing
her
nomination
soon
and
go
on
to
meet
the
youth
congress
members
in
various
districts
seeking
their
support.
The
election
will
be
held
in
the
first
week
of
October.
Although
her
father
is
an
active
Congress
member
in
the
state,
Ramya
will
have
to
face
a
tough
competition.
The
reason
behind
it
is
that
Union
Minister
Mallikarjuna
Kharge's
son
Priyanka
Kharge,
ex-Railways
Minister
Jaffer
Sharief's
grandson
Rehman
and
senior
congress
leader
Margaret
Alva's
son
Nivedith
Alva
are
in
the
contest.
However,
Ramya
is
the
only
women
candidate
among
the
four
contestants.
Other
three
candidates
have
strong
political
background
and
support
of
bigwigs.
Even
Ramya
has
the
support
of
Union
Minister
SM
Krishna
and
her
Ex-Minister
DK
Shivakumar.
Moreover,
she
has
star
power
and
has
huge
fan
following
and
maximum
number
of
fans
are
youth.
So
she
has
many
chances
of
winning
the
election.
