Rathnavelu to direct Puneet Rajkumar

Popular cinematographer of South Indian film industries, R Rathnavelu is all set to make his directorial debut. The lensman has chosen Sandalwood to enter the direction department with Powerstar Puneet Rajkumar's film.

He has confirmed the news about his directorial debut film in Kannada and has claimed that he and Puneet Rajkumar have been planning to work together from past two years. Now the time has come and they will soon start the project, adds the soon-to-be director. R Rathnavelu considers himself to be lucky for getting an opportunity to work with the superstar of Kannada film industry.

R Rathnavelu, who entered the Sandalwood with Cyanide, became popular in Kannada film industry with Yogaraj Bhat's Gaalipata. Last year, he was involved in a controversy with director Mussanje Mattu Mahesh during the filming of Ganesh's Kool. The difference with the director made Ganesh to throw the filmmaker out of the film.

R Rathnavelu's acclaimed works are Jayam, Arya, Jagadam, Vaaranam Aayiram, India's biggest ever scientific fiction Endhiran, which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
