The bosses of much-anticipated Kannada movie Jogayya are very happy as the movie has already fetched them whopping amount of money from its rights. According to sources, Sandalwood actor's Shivaraj Kumar's 100th film has earned Rs. 16 crores from its satellite, music and distribution rights.
Director Prem's latest film Jogayya, which is a sequel to his blockbuster movie Jogi, is a big budget movie. According to sources, producer Rakshita has spent nearly 22 crores on the movie. The hype created by the media has made the rights of the film sell like hot cake in the market.
The audio rights of the movie Jogayya have been sold for a whopping amount of Rs. 50 lakhs. V Harikrishna has scored music for its songs and Kailash Kher, Shreya Ghoshal, Vijay Prakash, Shankar Mahadevan, Upendra, Priya Himesh and Sonu Nigam have rendered their voice for them. The music has become hit by selling one lakh audio CD in just a couple of days.
Adding to this hype, the satellite rights of Jogayya have been sold for a whopping Rs. 3 crore, which is new record in the Kannada film industry. Many experts wonder whether the movie will return the investments. But the TV bosses, who have bought the rights, are very confident about its big business.
Another interesting aspect of Jogayya is that many distributors were in the queue to buy the rights of the film. According to reports, the rights for Bangalore, Kolar and Tumkur areas have been sold for Rs. 6 crores. The rights of Mysore, Hubli, Bellary, Shimogga, Mangalore and Hyderabad Karnataka have fetched Rs. 2 crores, Rs. 2.08 crores, Rs. 1.08 crores, Rs 52 lakhs, Rs. 20 lakhs and Rs. 54 lakhs respectively.
However, the distribution rights of the movie Jogayya have been sold for a record price in all these above mentioned areas.
