Upendra set to recreate the Shh magic in Kanchana remake

Upendra is in a mood for a change. The actor, who has often preferred different genre films, is all set to star in a horror movie for the first time. Yes, he is gearing up to recreate the magic of his yesteryear directorial movie Shh with his next movie, which is a remake of Tamil-Telugu superhit movie Kanchana. The Kannada version has been titled Kalpana.

The director-turned-actor said that the story of Kanchana impressed him a lot. He believes that we do not come across a scary movie very often. Upendra says that his earlier movie Shh was the last movie, which got a wide acclaim in the horror genre. So, Uppi wants to thrill the audience with spine chilling moments in upcoming Kalpana.

Kalpana will take off in February 2012. Director Rama Narayanan is helming the project. Lakshmi Rai, who played the female lead in Kanchana, will be repeating the same role in Kannada. Senior actress Shruti is said to be playing a key role in the film. Other details about the project are under wraps.
