Ambareesh is a 'Palegara' of Sandalwood: Rajinikanth

Rebel Star Ambareesh's 60th birthday bash was a big star-studded affair, which witnessed who's who of Indian cinema industry. Of all the stars, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who came to attend the event with his daughter, was the biggest attraction at the Ambi Sambrama. The cheers reached the sky, when he took to the mike to address the huge gathering.

Talking about Ambareesh, Rajinikanth recalled his days as conductor in Bangalore Road Transport. Rajini said that he had gone to watch Ambareesh's first film Nagarahavu in his conductor's uniform. What had impressed him in the film was Ambi's trick of throwing cigarette and putting it between his lips. The South Indian superstar, who is known for his idiosyncratic style, added that he loved the scene and he aped it in one of his movie.

Ambareesh has been unauthorised judge in the Kannada film industry and he has been giving amicable solution to several fights and rifts among the stars and filmmakers. Talking about it, Rajinikanth described him as Ambareesh is a 'Palegara' of Sandalwood. He added that he is combination of ‘Sri Rama and Sri Krishna.

However, besides Rajini, several big stars like Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi, Shatrughan Sinha and a few others, who have been close friends with Ambi for several years, made it to his grand birthday and wished him good health. The event also witnessed entertainment programmes like skits, songs and dance by Kannada stars.
