I've not approached Deepika Padukone: Upendra

There was lots of buzz that Upendra has approached Deepika Padukone for his prestigious project Upendra 2. However, the director-turned-actor has denied the news and said that he has not offered the film to anyone yet.

Clarifying to Oneindia, Uppi said, "The reports of Deepika Padukone being approached by me for Upendra 2 are baseless. I have not finalised the cast yet. And I can only say that the movie introduces new faces to film industry."

Gorgeous Deepika Padukone, who started her acting career in Kannada film industry with the film titled Aishwarya starring Upendra, never returned to Kannada films after going to Bollywood. It was reported that the actress was approached by the A star for Upendra 2, which is a sequel to Upendra, and she was considering the offer. Meanwhile, Uppi is busy giving a final touch to the script.

However, the movie Upendra had a psycho-philosophical subject that tells the state of a 'self'. His inward feeling towards sex, love and success were portrayed by three main female characters played by Raveena Tandon, Prema and Damini. The movie drew a lot of criticism for its bold dialogues and scenes. Nonetheless, it had become a massive hit among the masses.
