K Manju to produce Ilayathalapathy Vijay movie

Bangalore: Kannada producer and distributor K Manju, who is basking in the success of Godfather, has a good connection in Tamil film industry. It may be because he distributes quite a lot of Kollywood movies in Karnataka. Now, he is all set to venture into Tamil cinema by producing superstar Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer movie!

K Manju, who has recently distributed Ajith Kumar's Billa 2 in Karnataka, had earlier acquired the theatrical rights of Vijay's Velayudham, which made good business in the state. The producer-distributor had also managed to pull the Tamil superstar to promote the last-year's film and made Vijay speak in Kannada, which was praised by Kannada media.

Now, Manju's association with Vijay in Velayudham seems to be moving to the next level, as the Tamil superstar has given his nod to work with him. Talking about the development, the producer said, "We had a informal chat with Vijay and he has asked us to come up with a good script. We are working on it and things could fall into places in the later part of the year."

However, he is gearing up to start a fresh Tamil movie before working with Vijay. "My first venture will be directed by M Sasikumar of Naadodigal fame (Hudugaru in Kannada). We have locked a script and the project will take off soon. It will be made in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu," K Manju concludes.
