Rajamouli's father decides fate of Upendra's prestigious film

By Ramchander

S Vijayendra Prasad, the father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli, had earlier written quite a few scripts for Kannada films, including late Vishnuvardhan's hit movie Appaji. Now, he is all set to return to Sandalwood with a prestigious project, which will star none other than Real Star Upendra.

Upendra and Dr Vishnuvardhan were supposed to work in a period film titled Yuge Yuge. It was a dream project of Vishnu-filmmaker TS Nagabharana. About 16 writers had worked on the script and there were positive vibes about the project but when everything started falling into place, there emerged some creative differences between the writers on the climax of the movie. It made the movie bosses to put the film on hold.

Later, Dr Vishnuvardhan's death almost sealed the fate of the historical flick. However, now the makers of Yuge Yuge have revived the project and approached S Vijayendra Prasad to give a final shape to the script and climax. It is also said that Shivaraj Kumar is likely to do the role, which was offered to Vishnuvardhan. The movie will be produced by Rockline Venkatesh.
