Dr Rajkumar's biography selling like hotcake

Bangalore: Sandalwood matinee idol Dr Rajkumar's biography 'Dr Rajkumar: The Person Behind The Personality' has fetched above Rs 35 lakhs in 50 days after its release. The book written by Puneet Rajkumar was launched by the first family of Kannada film industry on June 1.

Reports say that 'Dr Rajkumar: The Person Behind The Personality' is selling like a hotcake. The coffee table book has managed to earn more than Rs 35 lakhs and close to 2,000 copies have been sold in Kannada and English versions. The amount will be donated to improve the infrastructure of our government schools in Karnataka.

While the Kannada version of the book is priced Rs 2,250, the English version is Rs 2,750 and the first copy was purchased by Parvathamma Rajkumar for Rs 1 lakh on the day of the book launch. The book, which is co-authored by Prakruthi N Banavasi, an educationist, throws light on Rajkumar's life and his journey to stardom.

Puneet Rajkumar took eight years to complete the book, which has over 1,750 rare pictures of the legendary actor.
