Rakshita to contest next assembly election

By Ramchander

Rakshita Prem, who entered politics by joining Sriramulu's BSR Congress Party in March 2012, seems to be considering politics as a serious career, as she is ready to contest the next elections. The actress has confirmed the news that she has decided to contest in one of the 224 assembly constituencies.

In the recent times, the actress actively participated in political rallies planned and executed by Sriramulu, the former minister and founder of the BSR Congress Party. Rakshita, who seems to be unwilling to restrict herself to be a glam face of the party campaign, has announced that she will be contesting the next election.

However, Rakshita hopes that the party will consider her as a serious candidate and gives a ticket. It is noted that the actress travelled with Sriramulu in his 900 km padayatra and also visited Janardhan Reddy at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

It is believed that Rakshita might get the ticket to contest the election for either one of the constituencies in Bangalore or one of the places of Uttara Karnataka. The next general election is expected to held in April 2013.
