Ramya too costly for Mammootty

By Ramchander

Golden Girl Ramya knows her market. The highest paid actress of Kannada film industry has turned out down an offer to act opposite Malayalam superstar Mammootty, as the producer of the film felt that she is too expensive to cast.

The buzz is that Ramya, who generally charges Rs.30-32 laks, was approached by Milen Jaleel for forthcoming Malayalam movie Tappana. He has said that he wanted to rope in the Kannada actress but he could not sign because of her huge demands. Not only the remuneration but also her other conditions made them to offer the role to other actresses like Sameera Reddy, who is entering Sandalwood with Sudeep's Varadhanayaka, and Charmy Kaur.

The producer further adds that Malayalam film industry cannot afford to spend so much on an actress. As the movie is a male-oriented, he decided to drop his plans. Now, the role has been bagged by Charmy Kaur.
