S Narayan takes U-turn, returns to direction

By Ramchander

S Narayan, who announced his retirement from direction, has withdrawn his resignation. Bowing down to the requests of his well-wishers in the industry, the director has changed his mind to re-enter films again.

The filmmaker of 20+ films has said that his friends in the industry forced him to change his decision. Especially, Rebel Star Ambareesh and former Chief Minister and film distributor HD Kumaraswamy pressurised him to withdraw his resignation. Their love and affection made him to loosen his stand, claims the director.

It is said that during the recently held Ambi Sambrama, a function celebrated for the successful completion of Ambareesh's 40 years in the film industry and for his 60th birthday, Ambareesh requested to change his stand.

S Narayan made his debut in early 90s through Chaitrada Premanjali. He has directed over 20 films in the last two decades including Veerappa Nayaka, Suryavamsha, Simhadriya Simha, Chandra Chakori, etc. He is the only director among the current lot, who has directed a Raj Kumar film (Shabdavedi).

Meanwhile, his forthcoming movie Appayya is in post-production stage and getting ready for release.
