Sangolli Rayanna's budget is 3 times bigger than usual films: Darshan

Tamil Nadu: There is a long-gap between Darshan's last release Sarathi and his next movie Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna. Fans of the Challenging Star are obviously disappointed due to this long break. But he has a reason for delaying his next project, as Darshan's next, which is a historical movie, is a biggest-ever movie of his career.

At a recently held press meet, Darshan explained why his next project is being delayed. "Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna is a mega-budget film and he wanted a good gap between his last and next film releases. The makers of the upcoming film have shelled out three times bigger amount than usual films for the historical project."

"Keeping the budget factor in mind, they decided to give a big break. If there is not a good gap between his films, there are chances of audience losing out interest and also it is not a regular movie. I want to ensure that the producers, who have spent a huge money on this project, do not lose their money and I do not wish to see them in troubles. Hence, I decided for the long-gap."

"Today, fans expect quality films from us and if we deliver 3-4 films in a year, they would lose interest in our movies," Darshan concluded.

However, Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna is the biopic of the freedom fighter of the same name directed by Naganna. While Darshan plays the title character, veteran actress Jayapradha will be seen in the role of Rani Kittoor Chennamma.
