Sri Rama Sene protests against Veena Malik!

By Ramchander

Sri Rama Sene, the ring wing outfit, has protested against the casting of Pakistani actress Veena Malik who is making her debut in Kannada with Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga. It has also urged the movie bosses to find a replacement for her.

The protesters, led by Sri Ram Sene President Pramod Muthalik, shouted slogans and sought to know why the makers of Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga had cast her when there are many talented Indian actresses who can fit into the role. The Hindi version of the film, which was an unofficial biopic of southern sex symbol Silk Smitha, starred Vidya Balan in the lead role.

Last year, All India Muslim Tyohar Committee in Bhopal had issued a fatwa against Veena and ex-communicated her for 'objectionable' photos on the net and for degrading the sacred institution of 'nikah' by signing a contract to choose a groom on a reality show.

Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga is based on the real life story of yesteryear sex siren Silk Smitha and it also features Tamil actor Parthiepan and newcomer Akshay. Senior actor Srinivasa Murthy is playing an important role in the movie. However, it is not a remake of Hindi movie The Dirty Picture.
