Upendra's Godfather censored, releasing next week?

By Ramchander

K Manju has taken his next step towards the release of his Godfather starring Upendra. The upcoming Kannada film was censored on Tuesday (April 24). Now, he is planning to release the film next week.

It comes as no surprise as K Manju is desperate to release Godfather before Upendra's other film Katari Veera Surasundarangi. It is now believed that the producer is likely to release this film next week, as Munirathna produced first-ever 3D Sandalwood film will be in theatres from May first week.

After getting censor certificate, K Manju said that he is happy with the latest development, but refused to reveal the release date of the forthcoming Kannada film. However, it is surprising to note that the audio of the film is yet to be released.

The drama between the producers K Manju and Munirathna begun after the latter announced that his Katari Veera Surasundarangi would hit the screens in April last week. The former, whose Godfather is in the making from a year, was unhappy, as he wanted to release his film before the Muni's 3D film.

K Manju's Godfather is directed by noted cinematographer PC Sriram and it is a remake of Tamil hit film Varalaaru, which starred Ajith Kumar in the triple roles. It has Oscar Award winner AR Rahman's music.
