Veena Malik not playing prostitute in Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga

Veena Malik turned down the allegation claiming that she plays the role of a prostitute in her upcoming Kannada film Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga (DPSSM) directed by Trishul.

When there is a film being made on 'Silk Smitha', the sizzling dance queen of the 1980’s South Indian film industry, expectations are bound to increase. Vidya Balan donned the role of the sex siren and won accolades and rewards for her brilliant performance in The Dirty Picture. Now, all eyes are on Veena Malik since she will essay the role of Silk Smitha in the Kannada film Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga (DPSSM).

Nikitha Thukhral had earlier said that she rejected the film as the story revolved around the life of a commercial sex worker. However, in her recent visit to Bangalore, Veena Malik said, "I am not playing a prostitute in Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga". Veena Malik further told reporters that when director Trishul approached her with the role, she did a lot of research on the life of Silk Smitha and only then agreed to do the role. Veena further added, "Trishul even gave me a copy of the entire script in English. I read it and gave a nod to the project only when I was completely convinced about the film."

Veena Malik, who has been asked to put on at least five kilos for the role said that she hasn’t watched any of Silk Smitha’s films since she doesn’t want to get inspired by her performance. The hot actress says she wants to have Veena Malik stamped all over the character.

Well, only time will tell us if Veena Malik will do justice for Silk Smitha’s character in Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga!
