6-5=2 (Six Minus Five Equals Two): How Makers Got The Idea?

It was biggest mystery in the history of Kannada film industry, ever since the movie 6-5=2 (Six Minus Five Equals Two) got released on November 29, 2013. Since the cast and crew of the movie remained anonymous, even for the people of Gandhinagara.

6-5=2 has the tag-line that reads, 'A video shot by late Ramesh,' which made the moviegoers to believe that they have watched the real camera footage of some dead trekkers. Few audience claimed that it was just an inspiration from the 1999 Hollywood movie The Blair Witch Project. But the mystery continued, whether it was a real footage screened or the movie was shot with the inspiration of real life incident. It is said that the plot of 6-5=2 is based on the real life story of six youths, who are enthusiastic and plan trekking in the forest near Mysore.

Finally, the mystery has been solved and the makers of 6-5=2, has come out in front of media and revealed the suspense, and their inspiration behind the making of movie.

Bangalore Mirror (BM) reported that the movie is directed by Ashok. The cast includes Krishna Prasad (Naveen), Vijay Chendoor (Tigana Kumara), Pallavi (Sowmya), Tanuja (Deepa), Darshan Apoorva (Ramesh), Mruthyunjaya (Jolu Prakash) and Vinay (reporter).

Ashok said, "There is some real-life inspiration as well. In 2011, I was trekking with my friends. Just as we were about to cross over to the forest area, forest guards stopped us."

"We were asked to write down our names in their records. A guard told us that we have to be very careful as many people, who went for trekking never came back because they lost their route maps," he added.

Ashok said, "Guards also spoke about some supernatural powers inside the forest. That is where the idea for this film was born. It took six months to write the script."

Keerthi BL has handled the camera for 6-5=2. He has referred to The Blair Witch Project, and few other movies, which are based on Paranormal activities.

Keerthi said, "The director gave me the script and asked me to watch The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. In the entire movie, we had no option of using a tripod.

Keerthi added, "They had re-shoot few scenes because they found it in-adequate, when they brought the footage to editing table.

They also revealed that 6-5=2 is shot mainly near Coorg, and few scenes were re-shot in Bangalore University campus.
