Yesteryear Actress Aarathi's House Sold!

Yesteryear Sandalwood actress Aarathi's home, which was named as 'Bellitere (silver screen)' has been sold to a Private company. The bungalow, which is located in JP Nagar 6th Phase, Bangalore was bought by a Chennai firm.

Speaking to a leading daily, sources close to actress revealed, "Aarathi has been living in the US for a long time and the house was rented out to a corporate house which had turned it into its company guest house. With the area going commercial, there were a lot of queries whether she was interested in selling the property. The deal was clinched by a Chennai buyer who is in the process of carrying out due diligence of the papers."

Even today, Bellitere is cited as the landmark for any address in and around JP Nagar area. Years ago Aarathi left Kannada film industry and Bangalore, but her residence remained as popular as ever.

The sprawling property of 9,600 sqft was allotted to Aarathi by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) in 1970. Later, she constructed the bungalow and lived there for a few years. The actress had settled down in USA for many years and returned to Bangalore some years ago.

Aarathi was at the peak of her career in 1970s and 80s with the movies like Gejje Pooje, Naagarahaavu, Edakallu Guddadha Mele, Paduvarahalli Pandavaru, Ranganayaki, Upasane and Shubamangala.
