TN Ban Turns A Boon For Vijay's Thalaivaa At Bangalore Box Office!

By Shanmugan

Tamil star Illayathalapathy Vijay is experiencing a never-before difficult situation in his two-decade career. The actor's Kollywood movie Thalaivaa has not been released at his home, but has hit the screens worldwide. It had happened to Universal Star Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam earlier this year when the state government had banned it fearing a communal clash.

Thalaivaa was released worldwide on August 9 sans Tamil Nadu. The unofficial ban irked the fans of Vijay. There were many online campaigns done by his fans, but nothing has helped the film as it has not been released yet.

His fans were hoping that Thalaivaa would at least release for the Independence Day (August 15), but they were disappointed again as the film could not see the light of day. As a result, the Tamil film is heading for a huge loss at the Box Office.

The only silver line in the entire episode is that Thalaivaa has received a thunderous response at International Box Office and in the neighbouring states. More importantly, the film has got wonderful response in the Bangalore and Kerala Box Office.

As we reported earlier, fans of Vijay who could not wait for the release of Thalaivaa in Tamil Nadu, are travelling to other states to watch the film. Continue reading the story on the slideshow...
