It's
not
new
for
Kannada
movie
makers
to
face
title
issue.
After
Superstar
Upendra
starrer
Basavanna,
now
it's
the
makers
of
Sandalwood's
forthcoming
movie
Chatrapathi's
turn
to
face
title
issue.
Several
Maratha
organisations
(Marathi
Community)
in
Karnataka,
has
objected
the
tag-line
of
Sandalwood's
forthcoming
movie
Chatrapahti,
which
reads
'Underworld
ge
adipathi
(King
of
underworld)'.
Karnataka
Kshatriya
Maratha
Parishat
(KKMP),
the
leading
organisation
of
the
community
in
Karnataka,
have
demanded
the
filmmaker
to
change
the
tag-line.
It
is
said
that
Chatrapathi
is
referred
to
the
King
Chatrapathi
Shivaji,
and
the
Maratha
community
is
upset
over
linking
it
to
the
underworld.
The
movie
is
the
remake
of
Telugu
hit
Chatrapathi,
which
was
directed
by
SS
Rajamouli.
Talking
to
a
leading
daily,
Dinesh
Gandhi,
director
of
Kannada
movie
Chatrapathi
quoted,
"The
film
is
not
about
any
historical
person.
A
film
with
the
same
name
was
made
in
Telugu
and
it
is
about
a
person
in
the
underworld.
It
has
no
reference
to
Shivaji
Maharaj
for
whom
I
have
great
respect.
I
have
used
this
caption
from
the
beginning,
but
only
now
there
are
some
objections.
These
things
are
somehow
raked
up.
I
have
not
decided
on
anything."
Now,
KKMP
have
approached
Karnataka
Film
Chamber
Of
Commerce
(KFCC),
to
order
director
Dinesh
Gandhi
to
remove
the
tag-line,
which
is
an
attempt
at
character
assassination
of
an
eminent
historical
ruler.
