Director Hemanth Hegde's Nimbehuli movie, which was all set for the Christmas release, has to face its first hurdle as Tamil Nadu based Dravida Munetra Kazhagam (DMK) political party has opposed the movie's release.

DMK representatives across Tamil Nadu has alleged that Nimbehuli is portraying their leader M Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi in a very bad light. The party workers, who were protesting to halt the movie's release, are successful in bringing the stay order from the court.

Sources said that the DMK party workers are feared with the character 'Karuna Ranga', which is played by actor Bullet Prakash. They claimed that the character is very much resembling their senior leader Karunanidhi, which would affect the party's image in forthcoming elections.

Nimbehuli also features Nivedhitha, Komal Jha and Madhurima in the female lead roles. Director Hemanth himself is playing the male lead in the forthcoming Kannada movie. The movie has Sandeep Kumar's cinematography and Veera Samarth's music.

The movie, which is produced by Bollywood's famous movie maker Subhash Ghai, is all set to get remake in Tamil starring Karthi Sivakumar in the lead role. Tamil industry's famous movie maker K Madesh has owned the remake rights of the movie. He was the former assistant director to Shankar.
