has
felt
that
Sandalwood
is
going
awry
after
the
death
of
Karnataka's
cultural
icon
Dr
Rajkumar.
Shivarudrappa
was
the
grand-father
of
Sandalwood
director
KM
Chaitanya,
who
made
his
debut
with
critically
acclaimed
movie
Aa
Dinagalu.
Chaithanya
has
also
directed
the
movies
like
Suryakanthi
and
Paraari,
who
says
that
his
grand-father
had
felt
that
Kannada
film
industry
was
going
in
a
wrong
direction
after
Rajkumar's
death.
He
also
said
that
his
grand-father
was
a
huge
film
buff
and
use
to
give
unbiased
feed
back
for
his
movies,
as
a
critique.
In
his
interview
to
leading
daily,
Chaithanya
said,
"My
grand
-father
was
a
huge
film
buff
and
would
analyze
them,
which
he
did
with
my
films
as
well.
He
felt
that
the
Kannada
film
industry
went
awry
after
Dr
Rajkumar's
death
as
he
felt
that
his
films
stood
for
values.
After
watching
my
films,
he
would
critique
them.
To
hear
him
say
'very
nice'
was
a
huge
compliment."
He
also
added
that
his
grand-father
was
disciplinarian
and
would
do
things
in
a
very
structured
and
meticulous
manner.
Talking
about
the
GS
Shivarudrappa''s
influence
on
his
life,
Chaithanya
said
that
his
grand-father
was
instrumental
in
his
up-bringing.
