Sandalwood's
Golden
era
was
considered
during
1970s,
80s
and
90s.
It
was
during
these
eras
that
we
saw
many
remake
rights
of
Kannada
movies
being
purchased
by
other
language
movie
makers.
Sandalwood's
famous
filmmakers
like
Puttana
Kanagal,
Abhayya
Naidu
and
Shankar
Nag
not
only
gave
hit
movies
in
Kannada,
but
also
in
other
South
Indian
languages
too.
Apart
from
their
imaginatary
story,
they
also
gave
life
for
the
novel
characters
in
their
films.
After
the
death
of
these
legends,
Sandalwood
saw
a
dip
in
audience
for
Kannada
films.
Though
there
were
many
legendary
actors
in
Sandalwood,
Kannada
films
suffered
from
the
quality
script
and
financial
crisis.
Now,
again
it's
time
for
the
other
language
movie
makers
to
look
up
to
the
Kannada
film
industry
for
the
good
scripts.
Recently,
it
was
said
that
the
Kannada
scripts
are
in
demand
across
South
India.
After
the
success
of
critically
acclaimed
movie
Lucia,
many
South
Indian
movie
makers
are
looking
up
to
Sandalwood
for
the
different
scripts.
Recently,
it
was
heard
that
director
Pawan
Wodeyar's
Govindaya
Namaha
and
Googly
will
be
made
in
other
languages
too.
With
this,
the
number
of
Kannada
movies
that
are
picked
up
by
other
movie
makers
are
increasing.
