Khatharnak, an upcoming movie by Malavalli Saikrishna, has been awarded 'A' certificate by the Central Censor Board Committee. It is said that the makers of the movie are unhappy with the decision of the members.

Sources said that Censor Board has asked the makers to cut several portions of the film, for which they have awarded 'A' certificate. But, the makers, who are arguing the need of those scenes, have moved to revising committee, with a hope of getting cleared.

Khatharnak is based on the real life story of psychopath killer and rapist Umesh Reddy. The crew had named the movie as Umesh Reddy initially. Later, due to the opposition from the Umesh Reddy's family, they renamed it as Khatharnak.

Actress Roopika, who was playing girl next door characters in Kannada movies, will be playing the role of the victim of a rape victim in the movie. Apart from Roopika, Khatharnak also features Ravi Kale, Ravi Verma, Sharath Lohitashwa, Sadhu Kokila, Shobha Raghavendra and Bullet Prakash in the important roles.

Malavalli Saikrishna, who has directed the movie, has also penned the story, dialogues and screenplay. It is produced by Ramesh Reddy. It is slated to hit screens in last week of November.
