Narasimhan,
the
acclaimed
producer
of
popular
television
show
Malgudi
Days,
passed
away
on
Saturday
(July
27).
He
was
86
and
survived
by
two
sons
and
a
daughter.
His
son
Badrinath
said
that
TN
Narasimhan
was
ailing
ever
since
he
underwent
a
surgery
about
eight
years
ago.
His
last
rites
were
performed
on
Saturday
in
Bangalore.
TN
Narasimhan
was
the
pioneer
in
taking
our
films,
tele-serials,
and
children
films
to
the
international
level.
His
most
acclaimed
work
was
Malgudi
Days
way
back
in
1985.
The
program
was
very
popular
then
and
people
remember
it
even
today.
He
had
produced
39
episodes
of
RK
Narayan's
Malgudi
Days.
Late
Shankar
Nag
had
directed
the
serial,
which
was
shot
in
a
village
near
Agumbe.
TN
Narasimhan
had
also
produced
few
films
including
Banker
Margaiah,
Kalpana
starrer
Kesari
Kamala
and
Vishnuvardhan's
Bangarada
Jinke.
Apart
from
producing
films,
he
served
as
a
member
in
Children's
Society
of
India,
Censor
Board
of
Film
Certification
and
Television
Institute
of
India.
