Photos: 14 Contestants Embark On Indian Journey With Akul Balaji
Kannada audience have been left with no other proper alternative show after the end of Kiccha Sudeep hosted Bigg Boss. To fill the time slot between 8-9 pm, ETV has come up with yet another reality show - Indian.
The success of Bigg Boss has made the loyal ETV viewers to sit before the TV to watch the first episode of Indian. People have been curiously waiting to see what the latest reality show has to offer to the Kannada audience. As expected, the first episode, which started airing on Monday (August 12), has managed to impress the audience.
The Akul Balaji anchored show is coming up with the tagline - Incredible Indadalondu Impossible Journey (Meaning: Impossible journey in incredible India). With beautiful visuals of Leh-Ladakh at the backdrop and wonderful background music, Akul kick-started the show. Soon, we were told about the 14 contestants.
Roopashri (Bangalore), Divya (Bangalore), Tsunami Kitty, Bhuvan (Kodagu), Spoorthi (Bangalore), Sushma Raj (Udupi), Vinod (Bangalore), Nirosha (Bangalore), Pankaj Upadhyaya (Bangalore), Pradeep (Shimoga), Gamya Biddappa (Kodagu), Soumya Mandakki (Hubli), Mahesh (Bangalore) and Mithun Seth (Udupi) are the 14 contestants of Indian.

Ladakh
Contestants started their journey by landing in Ladakh. There are some participants who have worked in film industry.
Spoorthi
Spoorthi is one such face, who has acted in 12 Kannada movies. She has also worked in television shows. Whereas, other contestant Bhuvan was seen in the role of a baddie in Golden Star Ganesh's Kool.
Depicting Incredible India
Depicting incredible India on an impossible journey, the show explores the various facets of lifestyle, culture, tradition, dialect and food discovering the true colours of different parts of India.
Length And Breadth of India
Indian is a show that is an exhilarating combination of travel and adventure that would appeal to all age groups. The show will be shot across the length and breadth of India, touching 7 states that include J&K, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
98 Episodes
The show starts in Ladakh and ends in Kanyakumari over a period of fourteen weeks and 98 episodes. Contestants are made to stay in a state for ten days.
A Complete Indian
They witness the uniqueness of the area and are made to acquaint to the various nuances of the state, returning home not just as a Kannadiga, but as a complete Indian.
Cultural Diversity
The team reaches a new state every alternate Monday, exploring the region with various native activities or tasks that will mirror the cultural diversity of the state.
Tasks
Tasks range from a wide array of activities like preparing a delicious savoury famous in Gujarat to draping the traditional turban of Rajasthan, etc.

Each task is tailor-made to suit the particular city, thus, challenging the intellectual skills, motor skills, additive powers and most importantly one's knowledge of the diversity found in a country like ours!
