The actress, who entered Kannada films in Sudeep starrer Veera Madakari, became a top star after featuring in item number 'Thuppa beka thuppa..' in Ravichandran's Kalla Malla Sulla. Ever since then, the actress being approached by a lot of producers for special songs in their films.
But the actress turned choosy and refused to accept offers as she was well aware of the fact that it would restrict her career to special numbers. It has to be noted that Ragini Dwivedi turned down the offer made by Prem last year for his Prem Adda citing that she was very busy with her other commitments.
There were also reports on various occasions where she was offered item numbers. But nothing turned true as Ragini Dwivedi kept busy with her committed projects. Ragini Dwivedi danced for the item number recently for forthcoming Kannada film V, which is the second film of Sharan in the lead. The film is produced by SRS Media Vision, a subsidiary of Anand Audio headed by Mohan Chabria and his brother Shyam.

Well known choreographer Imran Sardharia, who often prefers A-list Kannada actors, has directed the song. He himself has appeared in the song along with others, including Sharan.

It is a peppy fast high beat track with lots of energy. It was shot with 50 dancers on three different sets. Ragini took part in the rehearsals of the song before joining the actual shoot.

Sources say that the song has come out well and the makers of the film have left no stone unturned to attract audience. Ragini Dwivedi has done some impressive moves in the number.

However, Ragini Dwivedi is not happy for calling the song as item number. Her argument is that 'item' is non-living thing so it does not make sense. According to her, she would like to call it as special number.

The item number in V has been sung by Bollywood singer Kailash Kher, who has delivered quite a few hit numbers in Kannada films. Young musician Arjun Janya has composed the peppy song.

Meanwhile, the shooting of upcoming movie V starring Sharan and Shimla born actress Asmitha Sood in the lead has been completed. It is in the pre-production stage.
