Duniya Vijay has once again landed in a controversy with his divorce issue tarnishing his image in public. As often reported by Kannada tabloids, the trouble in the actor's wedding life finally came to light after Vijay appeared before the family court on Thursday (January 17).
In no time, Vijay's personal life became a matter of debate and many accusations on both husband and wife were made. The actor's reason for seeking the divorce on cruelty by Nagarathna against Vijay and his parents and of desertion, his wife, on the other end, wants him to live with her and points out his affair for the crack in the relationship.

"Firstly, the accusation made on me of not treating Vijay and his parents is not true. I'm brought up in a good family and have parents. He has an affair and that has made him to file for the divorce," Nagarathna said.

She claimed, "It is because of his affair, my marriage with him is in trouble. Hence, I don't have any option but to talk about the issue. I was shocked when Vijay approached me for the divorce. I was more shocked when he said that he will take care of me well even after the divorce and not to make it an issue."

"He often harassed me and said that I was unfit to be his wife. He also assaulted my parents when they tried to bring peace between us," she added.

"Nonetheless, my relationship with his parents is good and his statements are baseless. His father stays with him and his mother is now doing fine. I swear on my kids, I have never ill-treated my in-laws," she defends.

"From the past 15 days, he is not with us. He is staying at his sister's residence. When asked, he said that he was on a vrath (religious observance)."
