Pics: Chandra audio launched; Shriya Saran gives a miss
Actresses roped in from other language films rarely attend the audio launch functions of their films in Kannada film industry. Be it an A-list star's film or a film made by a reputed production house, media will hardly get to see those actresses at the music release events as our filmmakers does not see any necessity of asking their leading ladies to come to the audio launch function.
It may be because actresses demand a few more lakh rupees to be part of audio launch function or any movie related promotional events. Nonetheless, filmmakers never admit it and claim that the actress, who they have cast in their respective films, is busy with some other project and hence gave it a miss.
However, people hoped that Shriya Saran, who is making her Kannada debut in Chandra, would be an exception but she too disappointed with her absence. Nonetheless, the makers of the film made the event a colourful affair by bringing in some of the big names from Kannada film industry.

Speaking at the function, director Roopa Iyer said that Shriya Saran could not make it due to her other commitments.

Raghavendra Rajkumar, Yogaraj Bhat, Sanjjanaa, Harshika Poonachcha, Rishika Singh, actor Srinath, TS Sharavana of Sai Gold Palace, Dr Rame Gowda, Noorondu Shetty, Ms Nagambika and others graced the function.

The music launch function coincided with the 'Miss Karnataka 2013' organised by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on Tuesday (January 22).

Chandra has five songs, which are composed by Gautham Srivatsav and written by Jayanth Kaikini, AP Arjun, Roopa Iyer and Dr V Nagendra Prasad.

Anuradha Bhat, Badari Prasad, Tippu, Sonu Nigam, Chitra, Madhu Balakrishna and Karthik have sung the songs.

Chandra directed by Roopa Iyer is produced by India Classic Arts. The film also features Ganesh Venkatraman, Girish Karnad and others in the cast.
