Kamal
Hassan,
over
the
years,
has
became
closer
to
Kannada
audience.
Especially,
after
working
in
superhit
Sandalwood
movie
Rama
Shama
Bhama,
the
Universal
Star
has
tried
to
woo
the
cine-goers
by
expressing
his
love
for
the
state
and
films.
Recently,
he
said
at
the
Centenary
Celebration
of
Indian
Cinema
held
in
Chennai
that
he
wants
to
belong
to
Karnataka!
Well,
the
latest
to
hear
from
Kamal
Hassan
is
about
his
respect
for
legendary
Kannada
filmmaker
Puttanna
Kanagal.
Last
weekend,
the
actor
was
in
Bangalore
to
attend
a
programme
organised
by
Press
Club
of
Bangalore
and
Bangalore
Reporters'
Guild.
Speaking
at
the
occasion,
the
actor
recalled
some
of
the
classic
movies
directed
by
Puttanna
and
the
actor's
love
for
his
films.
"We
used
to
await
for
Puttanna
Kanagalji's
movies.
Like
me,
my
mentor
K
Balachander
was
a
fan
of
the
Kannada
filmmaker
and
we
were
coming
to
Bangalore
on
the
release
days
to
watch
his
movies." The
actor
also
said
that
he
loves
to
visit
Karnataka.
Kamal
Hassan
has
also
said
that
he
loves
to
work
in
Kannada
movies.
He
said,
"I
have
been
telling
my
good
friend
Ramesh
Aravind
to
come
up
with
bilingual
projects.
I
want
to
reach
out
to
Kannadigas."

Dubbing
Issue
Kamal
Hassan
also
spoke
about
the
dubbing
issue.
The
actor
said
that
the
ban
on
the
dubbing
will
not
help
any
industry
to
grow.
Kamal's
View
He
said,
"There
should
not
be
any
restrictions
on
other
language
films.
There
should
not
be
protective
measures
by
the
state
government.
The
industry
should
be
open
for
the
competition."
Flip
Side
Of
Dubbing
Kamal
explains,
"But
the
flip
side
of
the
dubbing
is
that
the
originality
will
be
lost
and
people
could
not
connect
to
it.
However,
it
is
only
my
personal
opinion."
Vishwaroopam
Kamal
Hassan
claimed
that
he
wanted
to
show
the
trailer
of
his
Vishwaroopam
to
the
Bangalore
media,
but
as
their
was
no
required
facility
to
screen
the
trailer,
he
dropped
his
plans.
