Is Ramya Serious About Taking Retirement From Acting?
Ramya is the latest celebrity in the recent years to have announced goodbye to films. In the last 15 months, a few well-known celebrities decided to take retirement before changing their stand. Now, the Golden Girl has said the same as she wants to have a serious career in politics.
The 29-year-old has taken a plunge into full-time politics by contesting in the Mandya Lok Sabha by polls. Ramya, in an interview recently, claimed that she wants to bid goodbye to acting simply because she can't concentrate on both the professions.
"This is the end. I don't think I'm going to do any more movies. If you look at other actresses they get into politics when their careers are waning. I'm still at the top," a leading daily quoted Ramya as saying.
According to Ramya, it won't be appropriate for her to sport short skirts and sleeveless blouses in films once she enters politics. As a result, she has made up her mind to bid goodbye to acting. "Ambareesh uncle and Govinda could do both, but I don't think the public will accept an MP who is running around trees in short skirts and sleeveless blouses." Ramya further explained that she had returned advances to two producers as she is very serious about her decision.

They point out that S Narayan and Crazy Star Ravichandran too had announced that they would take retirement from direction and acting departments, respectively. But their stands got changed due to the pressure from their close friends from Sandalwood.

S Narayan has announced last year that he was bidding goodbye to direction. He was upset with some of the younger actors. Hence, he announced his retirement. But within three months, he was convinced to change his stand.
Ravichandran
A few months ago, Ravichandran too had said that he was bidding goodbye to acting. He wants to concentrate on his sons' career. Hence, he made the hard decision.
Ravi Surprises
However, Ravichandran, surprisingly, claimed recently that he did not mean to take retirement completely from acting and the actor-director just said that he won't be acting in his sons' movies.
Will Ramya Change Her Stand?
Taking the examples of S Narayan and Ravichandran, industry insiders say that Ramya too could change her stand. Her well-wishers would not let her bid goodbye to acting.

More or less, Ramya is close friend with some of the big names in Sandalwood. The likes of Sudeep, Upendra, Ambareesh and many others could easily convince her, say insiders.
