TS Nagabharana's Mysore Mallige was a classic and remembered even today as one of the best screen adaptation from a literary work. It was based on the poems of KS Narasimhaswamy and had portrayed rural life and the pre-Independence movement.
KS Narasimhaswamy's collection of poems inspired the film Mysore Mallige, which the critics lauded and won several awards. The film was made in 1992 and now, a movie on the same name is being made which has created a controversy.
Well, a young team is making a movie with the title Mysore Mallige. The shocking part of the film is - dare bare photos! The pictures of the female lead Roopa Nataraj have created a controversy and irked a section of Kannada film goers.

Even TS Nagabharana has expressed his unhappiness over the title of the film and said that the director Oscar Krishna did have a basic courtesy to take his verbal consent to use the title - Mysore Mallige.

The director claims, "Mysore Mallige is about an innocent girl, who faces tough time, as she grows up. The film looks into whether a woman in society gets the right share to live or not,"
Shooting
He adds, "It is a good mixture of reality and imagination," explains the director. The film will be shot in Mysore, Madikeri and Bangalore soon."
Mysore Mallige Stars
The film stars Ranjan Shetty of Seeta tele-serial fame and Sri of Amrutavarshini soup fame are starring in the male lead roles. However, Roopa Nataraj had earlier worked in the movie Gaali.
