Shruti Hassan to enter Kannada films, pairing up with Puneet Rajkumar?

Shruti Hassan, who had earlier crooned a song in Kannada movie Prithvi starring Puneet Rajkumar, is all set to make her Sandalwood acting debut. The singer-turned-actress and the daughter of Kamal Hassan will be reportedly pairing up with the Power Star of Kannada film industry.

Rumour mills are rife that Shruti Hassan is in talks with the makers of the forthcoming Kannada movie directed by Jayanth C Paranji. Though the makers of the movie are tight lipped about her arrival, sources close to the production house have said that the actress is very likely to act in the film. It may be recalled that the actress was earlier approached for a movie starring Darshan.

Recently, when Shruti Hassan was in Bangalore, the actress had expressed her wish to make her acting debut in Kannada film industry. Now, it appears like her her wish is coming true with Puneet's film.

However, Jayant C Paranji, who has worked with some of the big names in Telugu film industry like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan, will be directing Puneet Rajkumar in the untitled film. The film was supposed to take off on the Power Star's birthday (March 17). However, since the actor was busy with Kannadada Kotyadhipati, the muhurat was delayed.
