Simbu Not In Govindaya Namaha Tamil Remake

Tamil superstar Silambarasan aka Simbu, who was all set to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of Sandalwood's comedy drama Govindaya Namaha, has said that he will not be doing the movie. The movie was likely to be directed by Pawan Wodeyar.

Govindaya Namaha, which featured Komal, Parul Yadav, Madhulika and Rekha in the lead roles, was in high demand for the remakes. The remake rights of the movie was owned by L Sridhar, who initially said that Simbu will act in the Tamil remake of the movie.

Simbu, who confirmed the news to a leading daily, said that he will not be doing the movie. "No, I am not doing the film and I haven't even seen the film yet. Moreover, I have no dates for a while as well."

Govindaya Namaha was recently remade in Telugu as Potugadu. Like the original movie, the Tollywood version too has become a hit, which paved way for the Tamil remake. Both Kannada and Telugu versions were directed by Pawan Wodeyar.

Simbu, who was impressed with the storyline, had crooned the track 'Bujji pilla' in Potugadu. It featured Manchu Manoj Kumar, Sakshi Chodhary, Simran Kaur and Rachel in the key roles.
