first
day
of
6th
Bangalore
International
Film
Festival
(BIFF)
started
off
on
a
positive
note,
witnessing
events
like
Poster
Exhibition
on
Indian
Cinema,
Inauguration
of
Dr
Raj
Kumar's
Films
in
the
retrospective
segment,
Panel
Discussions.
The
daily
screening
at
the
4
venues
garnered
good
response
with
the
film
enthusiasts
waiting
in
long
line
to
watch
their
pick
of
the
day
movie.
The
response
was
overwhelming
to
the
extent
that
the
delegate
pass
issuance
had
to
be
discontinued.
The
Poster
Exhibition
held
at
the
Sulochana
Auditorium,
Information
Department,
was
organized
by
the
National
Film
Archives
of
India
and
the
DAVP,
Ministry
of
Information
and
Broadcasting
of
India,
in
co-ordination
with
The
Department
of
Information,
Govt.
of
Karnataka,
Karnataka
Chalanachitra
Academy,
and
Bangalore.
The
Exhibition
was
inaugurated
by
the
Commissioner
Shri
KR
Niranjan,
HD
Gangaraju
and
Vishukumar.
Chairman
of
Karnataka
Film
Chamber
of
Commerce
(KFCC),
HD
Gangaraju
on
the
occasion
said
"The
Poster
exhibition
is
first
of
its
kind
in
BIFFES.
It
brings
me
great
joy
and
nostalgic
to
be
a
part
of
this
festival
and
see
it
grow."
A
Panel
Discussion
on
'Promotion
of
Regional
Indian
Films:
For
Festivals
and
Global
Market'
was
held
at
the
Department
of
Information.
The
panel
discussion
was
centered
mostly
on
topics
like
Film
Marketing,
Film
Budgeting,
Selection
of
films
for
film
festivals,
Indian
and
Regional
Cinema
&
how
the
films
are
being
promoted
in
the
west
etc.
