Uppi's
directorial
movie
Upendra
2,
which
was
announced
on
his
last
birthday
(September
18),
has
been
delayed
due
to
the
audition
of
the
cast
and
crew.
However,
the
script
work
for
the
film
has
almost
been
completed
but
it
is
not
sure
when
the
project
will
kick
off.
The
official
Facebook
page
of
his
production
house
announced
the
news.
The
message
read,
"Audition
for
lyricist
and
writers
is
closed,
the
project
is
delayed
a
bit,
hence
audition
for
actors
and
other
crew
has
been
postponed." The
auditions
started
on
January
19
and
ended
recently.
So
far,
Gurukiran
and
HC
Venu
have
been
signed
to
handle
music
and
cinematography
departments.
Other
crew
members
are
yet
to
be
finalised.
However,
Upendra
2
is
a
sequel
to
Upendra,
which
was
a
psycho-philosophical
thriller
that
tells
the
state
of
a
'self'.
His
inward
feeling
towards
sex,
love
and
success
were
portrayed
by
three
main
female
characters
played
by
Raveena
Tandon,
Prema
and
Damini.
The
movie
drew
a
lot
of
criticism
for
its
bold
dialogues
and
scenes.
Nonetheless,
it
had
become
a
massive
hit
among
the
masses.
Meanwhile,
the
director-turned-actor's
film
Topiwala,
which
was
supposed
to
release
in
January,
has
been
postponed
to
March.
In
the
meantime,
he
is
expected
to
take
up
a
remake
project.
