Silk Sakkath Hot Maga has been getting free publicity for one or the other reason. To begin with, the movie was making a lot of noise over the title issue, which was earlier called as Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Hot Maga.

A Biopic On Sex Siren

Silk Sakkath Hot Maga is a biopic on yesteryear sex siren Silk Smitha. Earlier, Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor had made a movie on Silk titled The Dirty Picture, which became a massive hit.

Ekta Kapoor Raises Objection

This made Ekta Kapoor raise objection over the movie citing that the makers of the movie are trying to cash in from her movie The Dirty Picture.

Title Issue Landed In KFCC

Ekta Kapoor wrote to the KFCC and asked them to intervene. But the makers of the Kannada film claimed that their movie was not a remake of The Dirty Picture.

'Dirty Picture' In Court

Later, Ekta Kapoor moved the court claiming that the makers of the Kannada movie were using her brand - The Dirty Picture - for the biopic on Silk. Hence, the court should not permit the makers of the Kannada movie to use 'Dirty Picture' in the title.

Ekta Wins

The court gave the verdict in favour of Ekta Kapoor and asked the makers of the Kannada movie to drop 'Dirty Picture' from the title. Hence, they renamed the movie - Silk Sakkath Hot Maga.

Silk In Troubles Again

On the other end, Veena Malik was not welcomed by Sri Rama Sene, a hardcore Hindutva group. Her Pakistani identity made the organisation to raise objection over choosing her as the heroine of the Kannada movie.

Pramod Muthalik, the chief of Sri Rama Sene, held a protest in Mangalore claiming that the makers of the film should consider his threat seriously as the Hindu group won't let the movie hit the screens.

He criticised Veena Malik in strong words by accusing her of having connections with terrorist groups. He claimed, "Many actresses from Pakistan were earlier in the news for having connections with terrorist organisation."

Why Veena?

He added, "The makers of Silk Sakkath Hot Maga have roped in Veena Malik without verifying Veena's background. I still do not understand why they signed the Pakistani actress when there is a good pool of talent in India and especially, in Karnataka."
