I Write Songs As A Listener: Yogaraj Bhat

By Sandesh

Kannada famous director Yogaraj Bhat, who has also scored the romantic tunes for Kannada movies, has said that he just write the songs as a listener, in order to understand the common man's approach.

Talking to a leading daily, Yogaraj Bhat said, "I write songs as a listener. I don't really put too much thought into my lyrics. I just write, but do so keeping in mind the commercial value of each song."

Yogaraj, who understands the mind of the listeners said that the music composers have to make every effort to reach out the listeners. "Today, since it's such a competitive world, we have to make every effort to reach out to our listeners. In a day when every person has over 6,000 songs on his/her iPod, it is important to create tracks that secure top positions on their playlists and only songs with extremely catchy tunes and gripping lyrics will get there," he added.

Yogaraj is awaiting the release of Golden Star Ganesh starrer Sakkare, in which he has worked as a lyricist with music composer V Harikrishna and lyricist Jayanth Kaikini. Bhat added, "To team up with Hari and Jayanth was a great idea. We enjoyed writing and composing songs for this film."
