Arjun Sarja's Exclusive Interview On Abhimanyu
Action King Arjun Sarja will back on the silver screen with his new movie Abhimanyu. The movie which releases on November 7th is one of his biggest projects so far. It has been made in Tamil and Telugu as well with the title Jai Hind 2. The actor/director has not only directed and acted in the movie, he also has written the script and the screenplay for the movie. This is a home production for the action star.
Abhimanyu is a big budget movie that has took years together to conceptualize and come out in form of a movie. This is the first time that Arjun Sarja will be directing a movie in Kannada. Previously he has directed several movies in Tamil. Being a Kannadiga it was always a question in the mind of the viewers as to when the actor would direct a movie in Kannada.
Abhimanyu is a action packed movie. But the story revolves around the concept of evils in the education system of the country. The actor has taken great pains to write the script of the movie. The actor/director gave an exclusive interview to Filmibeat and spoke more about his upcoming movie Abhimanyu.

How was the experience directing a movie in Kannada?
I have directed several movie in Tamil. But directing a movie in Kannada, which is my mother tongue gave me immense pleasure and satisfaction. The movie will be viewed by people from my state, therefore I have taken great pain to make it a good movie. People have high expectations from me and I want to live up to it.
About time you directed a Kannada movie.
Yes! I have delayed in directing a movie in Kannada for a long time. I always wanted to make a movie in Kannada, but I kept postponing the thought as I never got an interesting topic to work on. I wanted to make sure that when I direct a movie in Kannada it is of the best quality.
What made you choose the subject in Abhimanyu?
I have made the story on the basis of real life incidents that happened in Odisha and Bihar. Education is the right of every child. However, lakhs of children for poor family are not able to get quality education. Through this movie I want to talk about those children and bring them to the limelight. My dream is that every child should get quality education.
How long did you research to write the script?
Around six years back, the idea to make this movie came to me. After finishing my commitments, I started to research on the topic. It took me three years to complete the script and around one and half years back I started shooting the movie.
Isn't making it in three languages a big risk?
When I am making a good movie, I don't think that it is a big risk. Yes, it did put a lot of strain on me to make the movies in three different languages. But what to do? This was my dream project. Therefore, even though it was risky, I still went ahead with it.
What is your secret of energy at 52?
It is purely passion. I work 20 to 22 hours daily. The viewers expect a lot from us. When I make any movie, I strive hard to make it good. The determination to make a good movie drives me ahead. This is the biggest source of energy for me.
Can we expect the previous action king in Abhimanyu?
Not the previous action king! The action sequences I have done in the previous movies will look dull in front of Abhimanyu. This movie has my best action sequences so far. The movie is action packed and I have taken great pains to make it the best.
Will Suvreen Chawla play a glam doll in the movie?
Suvreen Chawla is a very talented actress. In Bollywood, she has the image of a glamour actress. But in Abhimanyu, she plays homely characted. Her character has lot of emotions in it. This is a completely different type of role for her.
What sort of audience will like Abhimanyu?
The movie will be appreciated by class and mass equally. I have made the movie to be a commercial entertainer and worked hard to make it of the highest quality. Apart from the action sequence, the movie will also have a social message for the public, which will be appreciated by all.
Finally, any comments on Arjun Janya's music?
He is a very talented and hard working person. Abhimanyu is not a musical movie at all. However, Arjun Janya has compose 3-4 beautiful songs for the movie. Through this movie I have introduced him to the Tamil film industry also. I am happy with the response the songs have got so far.
