Attack On Producer Soorappa Babu In The Premises Of KFCC

been
attacked
by
the
unknown
group
in
the
premises
of
Karnataka
Film
Chamber
Of
Commerce
(KFCC)
on
Thursday
(Feb
20).
It
is
reported
that
the
producer
was
attacked
by
unknown
men,
who
had
taken
part
in
the
protest
organised
by
pro-Kannada
activists
in
front
of
KFCC.
The
pro-Kannada
activists
had
staged
protest
against
KFCC
by
urging
them
to
make
their
stand
clear
on
the
dubbing
issue
and
they
were
also
requesting
the
members
not
to
approve
the
resignation
of
producer
Sa
Ra
Govindu,
who
had
resigned
from
the
secretary
post.
Following
the
protest,
KFCC
president
HD
Gangaraju
had
called
for
the
joint
meeting
of
all
the
members
to
discuss
the
issue.
When
Soorappa
Babu,
who
is
also
a
member
of
KFCC
came
to
attend
the
meeting,
the
group
of
unknown
men
from
the
crowd
rushed
towards
producer
and
tried
to
manhandle
him.
Producer,
who
was
scared,
immediately
rushed
to
KFCC
meeting
hall
and
sought
the
help
of
members.
KFCC
members
came
to
rescue
of
producer.
Though
Soorappa
Babu
could
recall
the
culprits,
they
could
not
see
the
attackers
anywhere
in
the
protest
mob.
It
is
reported
that
the
culprits
escaped
from
the
place
after
the
incident.
Following
the
attack
on
Soorappa
Babu,
KFCC
members,
Karnataka
Producers
Association,
and
Karnataka
Distributors
Association
staged
a
protest
and
urged
the
police
to
identify
the
culprits
and
provide
security
to
Babu.
