Bookie Turned Rowdy's Story Is Siddapura

The Siddapura area near Lalbhag was once famous for rowdyism. Some of the most infamous rowdies of Bangalore used to roam even in broad day light. A movie is being made based on the real incidents that took place in the area. The movie to be directed by V. Krishna will be titled as Siddapura. The movie was recently launched on the auspicious day of Vijaydashami on October 4th.

The director has previously directed the movie Jasmine-5. The movie was inspired by the unfortunate Delhi gang rape incident. Siddapura will be director's second movie. His second movie is also based on real life incident. The central character of the movie will be portrayed by Ram. The actor has so far done small roles in few movies. This will be his debut movie as the lead actor. The music for the movie has been given by Sri Harsha, who had earlier given music to Jasmine-5.

The director himself is from Siddapura area. He spent almost 20 years of his formative years there. He said, "The story is based on real incidents that happened long back. It is a story of a guy who gets into betting. When the guy gets into huge debts, he eventually gets involved in rowdyism."

The director also added, "The story has been written in the backdrop of recent IPL betting scandal. Apart from the main protagonist, there will be two other heroines and other supporting casts. Most of the supporting casts are real people who lived in Siddapura, I took their permission before including them in the story."
