Is KFCC Being Partial To New Film Makers?

Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce is in news again. Music composer Milind Dharmasena is unhappy with KFCC's decision regarding granting the title for his new movie "Uppi's Love Story". Milind Dharmasena is the producer of this movie. He has given a written affidavit that the film story has no connection to Actor/Director Upendra.

Is Kfcc Being Impartial To New Film Makers?

However KFCC has asked the producer to get a No objection certificate from Upendra for the movie. The producer argues that a movie titled 'Z' was given clearance by KFCC without any hassles a few years ago. The movie made by Prakash Naik had spoofed Upendra's real life and the KFCC completely ignored the storyline. The producer has now filed a petition in the court to get clearance for his project.

This isn't the first time KFCC has bended the rules. Just a few days back Sharan starrer Adhyaksha was in news for it's Title controversy. The producers of the movie had to change the title to Sharan Adhyaksha.

Crazy Star Ravichandran also has faced the brunt of KFCC's partiality. He had registered the title Kannadiga and Basava. However Puneet Rajkumar starred in two movies with very similar title Veera Kannadiga and Namma Basava. Recently he faced another blow from KFCC when they gave away the title Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari to producers Jayanna and Bhogendra fully knowing that Ravichandran was holding the rights for the title Ramachari.
