Mungaru Male 2 Launched - Exclusive

December 2006 marked the release of a Kannada movie that changed the face of the Kannada film industry and became the biggest blockbuster of its time. We are talking about the super hit movie Mungaru Male. Starring Golden Star Ganesh and Pooja Gandhi, the movie ran for more than a year in the theatres. The movie propelled Ganesh to heights of stardom and established the career of director Yograj Bhat and Pooja Gandhi.

Ever since the success of the movie, there were speculations of a sequel to the movie. The sequel of the movie was confirmed a while back. On November 24th morning, the movie was launched in a simple ceremony. The launching of the movie took place at the residence of Director Shashank, who will be directing Mungaru Male 2.

The director however, clarified that the movie will not be a sequel of the original movie. Mungaru Male 2 will have a fresh story and new cast. Only Ganesh has been retained from the first movie. When inquired further, the director said that they are yet to decide as to who will be paired with Ganesh in this movie.

Right now the movie has moved into pre-production mode and a lot of planning is yet to be made. The story and dialogues for this movie will be written by the director Shashank himself. He has previously director super hit movies like Moggina Manasu and Krishnan Love Story. The movie will be made under the banner of E.K. Pictures which had produced Mungaru Male. The shooting of the movie will start in April 2015.

The rabbit in the first movie had become very popular among the viewers. The rabbit named as Devdas had symbolized the failed love of the lead character. The director is yet to decide if Munagru Male 2 will have the rabbit. It has almost been a decade since the movie came out. Will the new movie have the same magic is too early to predict.
