Rift Between The Makers Of Upendra's Brahma And Ganesh's Shravani Subramanya

By Sandesh

It's common for the Kannada movie makers to fight for the theatres, when there is huge competition from other language movies. But this time it was not the same for the makers of Shravani Subramanya as they are fighting to retain Santosh theatre in Gandhinagara since they are facing tough competition from another Sandalwood movie makers.

Producer Jayanna, who owns the distribution rights of Ganesh starrer Shravani Subramanya has reportedly given the permission for the producer of Upendra starrer Brahma - The Leader to release the film in Santosh as the main theatre. Jayanna's decision of replacing their movie with Brahma has kept the makers of Shravani Subramanya in lurch.

Suresh, producer of Shravani Subramanya, who is upset with distributor Jayanna's decision is likely to approach Karnataka Film Chamber Of Commerce (KFCC). "Our film was doing a wonderful business at the Box Office. But Jayanna's decision of replacing Shravani Subramanya with Brahma in Santosh theatre will affect our movie's collection. Our movie will be completing 50 days of its theatrical run, and this decision will also affect this. So, I may approach KFCC regarding the issue," says Suresh. On the other hand, Jayanna says that he is forced to pay this week's theatre rent for Shravani Subramanya, though it is not doing good business. Continue reading the story on slides...
