engaged
to
Krazy
Star
fame
music
director
Gautham
Srivatsav
on
Thursday
(June
19).
Their
engagement
was
held
at
Roopa's
Banashankeri
residence
and
it
was
a
private
affair,
which
was
attended
by
close
friends
and
family
members.
They
will
tie
the
nuptial
knot
on
August
6,
2014.
The
members
of
Roopa
Iyer
and
Gautham
Srivatsav
families
are
known
to
each
other
from
a
long
time.
The
director
and
the
musician,
who
have
worked
together
in
the
2013
hit
Kannada
movie
Chandra,
were
seeing
each
other
from
quite
some
time
now.
Both
the
families
gave
them
green
signal,
when
they
came
to
know
about
their
relationship.
It
is
love-cum-arranged
marriage
for
the
couple.
Roopa
Iyer's
family
reportedly
held
the
engagement
function
at
their
Banashankeri
residence
in
Bangalore
on
June
19.
Vidwan
Bashyam
from
Mysore
conducted
the
rituals
as
per
Hindu
tradition.
Both
the
families
have
planned
to
hold
a
grand
wedding
function
for
Roopa
Iyer
and
Gautham
Srivatsav
in
Bangalore
on
August
6.
Later,
the
couple
is
expected
to
host
a
grand
reception
function
for
their
colleagues
in
the
Kannada
film
industry.
Roopa
Iyer
is
a
dancer,
philosopher,
columnist,
actress,
director
and
a
good
orator.
She
heads
India
Classical
Arts.
She
has
been
involved
with
over
a
dozen
movies
from
acting
to
direction,
and
has
orchestrated,
organized
and
performed
in
numerous
musical
and
dance
events
in
over
tens
of
countries
around
the
world
to
support
HIV
infected
children
through
ICA.
In
2009,
she
has
written
story
and
screenplay
and
directed
Kannada
movie
Mukha
Puta
or
Cover
Page,
which
is
about
HIV/AIDS
affected
kids
and
the
importance
of
Love
and
freedom
in
their
life.
The
movie
has
been
screened
at
more
than
10
international
film
festivals
and
won
several
national
and
international
awards.
Her
last
directorial
venture
Chandra,
which
was
released
in
Kannada,
Tamil
and
Telugu,
has
also
received
rave
reviews
from
the
film
critics.
