Sandalwood's
ace

Sahasa
Simha
Dr
Vishnuvardhan
is
still
alive
in
the
hearts
of
his
fans
and
Kannadigas.

Bruhat
Bangalore
Mahanagara
Palike
(BBMP)
has
decided
to
pay
a
tribute
to
the
versatile
actor
by
naming
a
road
after
him.
The
14.3
km
stretch
from
Banashankari
to
Kengeri
in
Bangalore
will
now
be
called
as
'Vishnuvardhana
Raste'.
Sources
said
that
it
is
one
of
the
longest
road
in
the
country
to
be
named
after
a
celebrity.
The
inauguration
of
the
road
will
be
held
on
February
2,
2014.
Incidentally
Abhiman
Studio
is
located
on
the
same
road,
where
memorial
of
Dr
Vishnuvardhan
is
coming
up.
Anirudh,
son-in-law
of
Dr
Vishnuvardhan
said,
"The
initial
proposition
was
from
Sarjapur
to
Kengeri,
which
is
much
longer.
However,
various
political
issues
that
cropped
up
over
the
last
four
years
since
my
father-in-law's
passing
did
not
allow
that.
But
we
are
happy
with
the
new
development.
It
is
a
great
moment
for
the
film
industry,
as
well
as
for
the
fans."
"We
will
begin
the
rally
at
10
am
on
February
2,
from
Banashankari
Temple,
by
unveiling
the
first
board
with
the
new
name.
Around
eight
wards
fall
along
this
stretch,
and
as
we
go
along,
we
will
be
inaugurating
each
of
the
boards
that
will
be
put
up," he
added.
