61st Filmfare Awards South Winner's List
A star studded and glamorous event marked the 61st Idea Filmfare Awards South 2014 in the Nehru Stadium in Chennai on July 12th. The event was attended by the biggest stars in the South Indian film industry. The awards were given in 10 categories for each of the four languages i.e. Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu. More than 45 stars from all the film industry won the Black Lady at the gala event.
Lucia was biggest winner in Kannada Film section. It won 3 awards on the night of glitz and glamor. There was stiff competition in all the categories. Ganesh, Shivarajkumar, Sudeep, Yash and Prem were nominated for the Best Actor (Male) award while Aindrita Ray, Amulya, Meghna Gaonkar, Rachitha Ram and Swetha Srivastava were nominated in the Best Actor (Female) category. The Best Film category saw Mynaa, Shravani Subramanya, Bul Bul, Bhajarangi and Simple Agi Ondu Love Story competing for honor.
The ceremony was a grand affair and yesteryears diva Rekha was the special guest. The show was hosted by South Indian Singer Chinmayi and Actor Rahul. Shruti Hassan, Taapsee Pannu, Shruti Hariharan, Catherine Tresa, Rima Kallingal and others gave scintillating performances on the occasion.

Nagashekar's Mynaa was adjudged the Best Movie in the Kannada.
Best Supporting Actor Kannada
Achyuth Kumar with his brilliant performance in Lucia won the award of Best Supporting Actor.
Best Supporting Actress Kannada
Kalyani won the best supporting actress award for her role in Jayammana Maga
Best Music Director Kannada
Arjun Janya won the award for his work in Bhajarangi
Best Playback Singer (Male) Kannada
Poornachandra Tejasvi bagged the award for the song Thinbedaakammi in Lucia
Best Playback Singer (Female) Kannada
Sowmya Raoh won the award for Karagida Baanalli from the movie Simple Aag Ondu Love Story
Best Lyrics Kannada
Siddu Kodipura, who wrote the song Banalli Badalago for Simple Aag Ondu Love Story won the award.
