Deepa Sannidhi, who created sensation with a very few movies and was on the verge of becoming the undisputed number one actress a few years back, is celebrating her birthday today. We have listed three movies which brought Deepa closer to the masses and to the number one position.
This was first film for Deepa Sannidhi in which she played lead role opposite none other than Challenging Star Darshan. This project for Deepa was something any debutant would dream of, and adding to this was the success of the movie which brought Deepa directly to the limelight. Deepa won hearts of youth with just two movies.
Director Dinakar's characterization and scenes confronting Darshan were the highlights of the movie which were liked by audiences. Deepa was equally good in the song sequences and no doubt, youth went crazy over Deepa.
One can say Deepa succeeded in distinction with her first movie. Also she won Best Debutant award given by Bangalore Times for the movie and also nominated for Best Debutant in Filmfare Awards.
This was second movie Deepa signed even before the release of her first movie Sarathi. If Sarathi had crazy combination of brothers Darshan and Dinakar, this project was no less with Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar and Yogaraj Bhat joining their hands for first time making this a most expected movie.
As we all know, Yogaraj Bhat is the best in portraying heroines in his movies and even this movie had a fantastic characterization for Deepa and good scope for performance as well. Deepa's glamour added to fantastic songs, making the songs chartbusters. The actress did deliver a fantastic performance in this movie making her even closer to audiences with her second movie.
Deepa was paired opposite then sensation and now Rocking Star Yash. As both the hero and heroine had delivered a couple of hits before Jaanu, expectations were high on this pairing. There should be no debate if we say Yash and Deepa had a fantastic chemistry on-screen which made the sequences in the movie special.
Deepa's character in the movie was from North Karnataka and she had to speak Hubbali Kannada and she earned brownie points for this. Also, she shined in comedy sequences and songs as she did in her previous outings Paramathma and Sarathi. She was nominated for Best Actress Award for her performance as Rukmini.
Even with a fantastic success rate, Deepa was not seen much on the silver screen after Endendu Ninagagi in 2014. For the last few years, she tried her luck in Tamil cinema as well, but she could not get the success in either of the two movies she did in Tamil.
Deepa was supposed to be a part of many star movies in between, but that did not materialize for the reasons better known to Deepa. In her career spanning 6 years, she has done 5 Kannada movies and 2 Tamil movies.
Now, Deepa is back to Kannada Film Industry after 2 years with Challenging Star Darshan's Chakravarthy which has almost same team of her debut Sarathi. Let's wish her good luck on her birthday and hope the Chikkamagaluru beauty continues to rock in Kannada cinema.
